Removal of skin lesions through cryotherapy pen

Cryotherapy is medical non-surgical treatment involving the removal of skin lesions by using liquid nitrogen to freeze the skin cells until they die. 

The freezing treatment normally involves 10-30 seconds of the liquid spray being applied with a cryotherapy pen. you may need a further freezing treatment after a short break dependent on the skin type and the nature of the problem. 

In the days following treatment, the treated skin lesion may become darker and will begin to crust. The crusted skin lesion will eventually flake away; this could take anywhere between 1-6 weeks. Healing time varies from patient to patient and is largely dependent on the skin type and the skin lesion that has been treated. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled for 4-6 weeks following your treatment to review the results of the Cryotherapy and assess whether a further treatment as required. Any treatments performed at review appointments are free of charge.

The removal of skin lesions such as skin tags, milia & cherry angiomas are no longer treatable as a standard NHS procedure and is now seen as a cosmetic treatment.
